I bought the seat at a vendor during Delmarva bike week last sept. They put it on and let me ride on it for a day to see if i liked it or not.
I'm 5' 10" 220# with a (girlfriend says) boney ***.
With stock seat on, 100 mi and my *** is sore. I've ridden 300 mi with the mustang and feel fine.
That's okay, I can tell it doesn't show the clips for the side covers, or does it. It's up to you.

No side covers. I wanted and got the plain one.

From the pix of the vintage solo it fits the same around the tank as the day tripper. I'll try to post some pix later today.

on my third and final seat now... had the upgraded 1200c seat to start with- too stiff and no butt time. from there to the mustang day tripper. better butt time for me (maybe half hour or a bit more) but not great for the plus two. from there to the mustang wide seat. no more butt time limits for me and about an hour or so for the plus 2. that works fine cause i usually stop every hour for breaks anyway.

my second seat- mustang day tripper:

I love the extra legroom but I REALLY hope it breaks in a bit.

I have posted in a few other threads but it seems you tow are the guys to ask.

I am in the market for a sportster (nightster of 48 if I can find a used one, here is only ONE on all of EBay) But the Sportsters are a bit small for me and I want to be able to stretch my legs. Forwards are a must but I am wondering what kind of seat I can target that will let me sit 3-4 inches farther back from the pegs. Are most of the Mustang seats the same in that regard? prefer 2 seater for the lady friend but like the look on the singles more. Thanks - much appreciated.

All I can say is that I looked at a lot of seats before picking the daytripper. It will give you more legroom, about 2-3" back would be my guess. I'm still searching for a seat that will match the legroom and ride/fit a bit better. I did a short trip (40 miles) yesterday and the daytripper felt a lot better. Could be breaking in.

My guess is any of the touring seats will provide extra legroom since they sit up higher. I was looking for a low profile seat. My wife won't get on the bike so rear comfort is a non issue for me.

I just installed the daytripper solo seat and my switchblade choped! today! it looks very very nice! you need a set of extra hands to make the stock bolt aligned with the fender hole ... will test it tomorrow morning!

Ok, snapped some pix of the daytripper for the tall guys. I'm 6'4.5" @ 260. I'd probably gain more legroom if I lost 20 lbs :-)

Stock Seat legroom

Daytripper legroom. I'm glad I did this because it re-affirmed how cramped the stocker was compared to the Daytrippe.
