Default Nightster Speedometer Relocation, Joker Machine Kit

Here's a link to a step-by-step procedure I used to relocate my 2008 Nightster speedometer using a Joker Machine mount. While doing this job, I also installed Joker Machine 2" Risers.

Hope it helps

Looks great. Think ima follow your blog to see what happens next.

How do you like that lift btw? Price doesn't seem to bad and it may make a good investment for me.

Looks really clean! Is removing the wheel really necessary to put the Joker Machine kit?

Great step by step directions. I've been batting around the idea of the joker re-lo for my Iron for awhile now but my laziness seems to get in the way. You may have re-motivated me...

Default re: Speedo relocation, Nightster

Hey Larry, I think the Pitbull lift is terrific. Way better than anything else I looked at, and I looked at 'em all. Go back to the blog and do a search for Pitbull Lift in the search box...Upper LH corner of page.....I think the write-up is is titled Love Story. You can see all the comparisons I made. Overall, the Pitbull lift is awesome, and I have no regrets about the purchase. I would, however, recommend you don't get the turntable attachment. It doesn't work with the Nightster, and even though it works fine with my FXSTC, I'm just not sure it's worth the extra bucks.

Voony, you do have to remove the wheel. The mount isn't split in half so it must be slipped over the fork tube. It seemed like a big deal when I first looked at it....like WTF!.....but turned out to be no big deal.

Thanks everyone.

Default Pitbull Lift, Second story with info about lifting Softails

I realized that I'd actually written two other articles about the Pitbull Lift.

Here's the second one that focuses on using the Pitbull Turntable attachment, but also has some interesting details about lifting Softails that isn't commonly available.

http://cowboyken.blogspot.com/2011/0...revisited.html

And here's the last one that lets folks know the turntable troubles had a happy ending. Watson MFG, the maker of Pitbull Lifts, is a class outfit.

http://cowboyken.blogspot.com/2011/0...turntable.html

Again, be careful lifting a Softail, no matter what kind of lift you're using

Default Glad it worked out!

Glad the instructions helped out.

Enjoy, and prepare yourself for a LOT of questions about how you did it. Every time I park my Nightster at the dealer or at an event, I get a lot of questions about how, how much, etc. It's a cool modification that totally cleans up the bike's appearance.

Thanks
Cowboy

If you notice, those 2" Joker risers are stock height (1.5") and are 2" to center line rather than surface to surface rise. I liked the look too much to send back so I bought a 1" spacer from DK to go underneath. Not that you were looking to go taller than stock, just sayin'.
