Flat Black Powder Coating

Flat Black Powder Coating
Sent my fenders and tank to get powder coated and I wanted to match denim black as much as possible. After receiving a photo from of my fenders I was surprised they had so much gloss to them. Spoke with the the powder coater and he said that the coating on it now is a matte black and the photo looks a lot glossier than in person. He would re-coat them to flat black if I wanted but told me that in his opinion the color looked like a dusty black bike and that it would leave finger prints would show up at the touch.
Has anyone had issues with the flat black powder coating on their tank and fenders? What are your thoughts?

the harley denim black is actually satin black not matt black. ask your powdercoater if they do that.
those fenders there do look a touch too glossy, but photos rarely show what the colour looks like in reality due to light, shadows, use of flash etc. if i were you i would go see the fender colour in person before you decide. Also, if your looking for an exact match on the harley denim you may find it difficult.
one of the members on here bought a rattlecan of the official denim black from his stealer to repaint his rear fender when something sharp in his backpack scratched the hell out of it. he sanded and sprayed it and it looks damn near factory

I went to look at my fenders today and they were definiately too glossy for my liking. Powder coater suggested I take them to the nearby HD dealership and compare them with a denim bike and make my decision off of a side-by-side comparison. My helmet almost exactly matched the denim bike while the fender was pretty glossy. Needless to say I asked to have them re-coated to match the flat black on the bike and helmet.
