Check out www.nightrider.com it explains it pretty well on there. I haven't used them so I can't tell you how they work but they richen your fuel for when you add a free flowing exhaust and air cleaner.

Simply put it alters the voltage in the O2 sensors and trick the ECM to add more fuel than what comes stock.

I recently installed a pair and I can tell a difference in the ride. Basically, a little more torque in first gear and also more throttle control while cruising. Not too bad for $100. Also, my mpg has increased but this could be due to the fact that I'm no longer getting winter fuel at my local gas station.

jbyun summed it up. I put a set on a few days ago. It took all of 5 minutes. Just riding around I can tell it has just a tad more torque in the low end and the engine seems a little cooler. I also noticed that can run in 5th gear at 55mph without any problems. There is a definitely a difference, not just a placebo effect.
