Default What is - X14iED

I am new enough that I "can't talk the talk" - - so not a dumb question - - none are as far as I am concerned - - that's the way we learn.

Thanks,
Balloo

Check out www.nightrider.com it explains it pretty well on there. I haven't used them so I can't tell you how they work but they richen your fuel for when you add a free flowing exhaust and air cleaner.

Simply put it alters the voltage in the O2 sensors and trick the ECM to add more fuel than what comes stock.

I recently installed a pair and I can tell a difference in the ride. Basically, a little more torque in first gear and also more throttle control while cruising. Not too bad for $100. Also, my mpg has increased but this could be due to the fact that I'm no longer getting winter fuel at my local gas station.

The X14iED(tm) is our new upgrade. This is a favorite for XL and XR1200 riders.
Nightrider's unique "US Patent 7805236" design approximates a richer fuel mixtures to quickly and simply improve the closed loop fuel mixture on your TC96/103/110 engine from 14.6:1 to 14.0:1. This results in cooler exhaust temperatures. Recommended for stock bikes and those with upgraded exhaust or intake.

jbyun summed it up. I put a set on a few days ago. It took all of 5 minutes. Just riding around I can tell it has just a tad more torque in the low end and the engine seems a little cooler. I also noticed that can run in 5th gear at 55mph without any problems. There is a definitely a difference, not just a placebo effect. It will be almost 90 here today, it should be a good day to test them. For those in the military or safety forces, Nightrider offers a nice discount
