Poll: Do you wear ear plugs when you ride?
I usually do as the wind noise, even with a helmet, gets to be too loud on rides. There must be something about the shape of my ears that catches a lot of wind because without a helmet, I cant stand it over 40 mph with no ear plugs.
I don't like to waste my hearing on noise.

If you can tolerate the look a full hemet will eliminate most of that. I rode a few weeks ago when it was a little colder than i thought and have had an ear ache since. I rode last week in the cold with the big white Qtip full face helmet and no wind, no noise, no pain. Didn't look cool but bike wasn't parked!

Long hiway hauls.

I've never worn a helmet, and for the most part don't wear ear plugs, but if I'm going on a long range ride of over a few hours I'll sometimes wear a set of the Hearos 32db expandable foam plugs.
Usually always have a set or two with me in case they are needed.

I wear custom fitted. By me. You can get the make it at home version in the hunting section of Wal-mart. 10.00 per pair. You mold them out of silicon and hardener. Takes about 15 minutes per ear. I don't ride at highway speeds without them. Too much hearing loss from firearms as it is.
