they're great on the hiway!!

 

90% of the time I do, if it's just a short trip less than ten minutes or so no. I wear a full face helmet always but the most recent one I bought has a way of channeling the wind into a very annoying whistle. I never noticed it initially, but after reading all the threads about wind noise and hearing damage it became obviousand very annoying![:@]So it's ear plugs for me! Now that I think about it maybe it's time for a new helmet! This time however I'm going to take the helmet on a test drive!

Earplugs? Do you have a windshield? Do you wear chaps? Do you wonder why Sporties get bashed?

the other day as i was coming out of walmart this guy fired up his harley and it made me jump. ear splittin loud pipes. must be those thunderheaders. i hope he wears earplugs or he will soon go deaf from riding that thing

 

I usually wear the earphones from my mp3 player with my skid lid. You can hear it pretty good up until you start going over 70mph.

 

Mainly hiway.....too much rock in the early years..gotta save what's left!

 

On long rides only. Putting around town I don't bother with them.

 

I wear them on long hauls. Around town I don't.

 

In the latest issue of Bike magazine there is an article about riding and hearing loss. Even wearing a full face you can still lose hearing over time. Apparently they are looking into new helmet designs to help cut the noise.
