Stupid Question! Seat off

RE: Stupid Question! Seat off
No one is making fun of you except you. We all had to learn at some point...I learned how to remove my harley seat the day I bought it. I looked at the guy and asked him how do I remove the seat. He showed me, but of course erupted in laughter. J/k, he didn't laugh...

RE: Stupid Question! Seat off
From the 2004 - 2006 Clymer Service Manual;
1. Remove the seat retaining bolt.
2. Push the seat forward to disengage the seat slot from the frame post.
3. Lift up the rear of the seat and remove it rearward so the seat tab disengages from the frame.
4. Reverse the removal steps to install the seat. Make sure the seat is secure before operating the motorcycle.

If your seat has a strap you might need to squeeze the seat past the strap. Install is the reverse squeeze through the strap and then position the seat. The rest was explained above.

Are you talking about the passenger strap on the seat?
If so most of them (including the one on my 2005 1200C) are attached to the seat, and not attached to the frame or some other point to hold the seat in place.
