See the steps above..it's a piece of cake compared to some other bikes.

Oh.. by the way... the seat retaining bolt is a phillip screw at the rear of the seat... the seat has a tab sticking out the rear and where it bolts to the fender...

Hey OFG, not to steal the thread here, but I have been meaning to tell you that I really like the seat on your 1200. The lines are very nice from the tank back. I am interested in the model, can you PM me or drop a note here as to what it is? Also, is it comfy for long hauls?

Yeah, far as I know it is the stock seat that came on the 2005 1200C...

I find it to be one of the most comfortable seats that I've ever used on any of my bikes, many 500+ days in the saddle without any problems at all.

Of course others will disagree, but a seat is like a pair of shoes, and one size will not fit all because of different body shapes, etc... But I'm pretty tall and lean, and the seat is perfect for me..
