Default 883l ?

Going to look at '09 883L Sat. morn. What is the main diff. between the low
and other 883? Is the bike any lower itself, or is it mainly seat and suspention.
Do you sacrifice ground clearance as well? Need advice ASAP! Thanks in advance....... JD

I've got an '09 883C. The differences I know of are as follows:

883C vs. 883L

Front tire 21" / 19"

Front Wheel Laced / 15-spoke

Gas Tank 4.5g /3.3g

Ground Clearance 4.4"/3.9"

Foot Controls Front/Mid

Seat Full /Solo

The solo seats puts you closer to ground and a little more forward. I think the handlebars are different styles as well. There may be other slight differences in the front and rear suspensions but I'm not that well versed in such matters. That's about all I've got. I'm not sure versus the Iron.

If ya like the twisties you won't like any "Low" model..
Lean angles are 29ish degree's Thats plenty for mellow riding.
Seat height Is 25.3"

My Roadsters got 32 degrees, I often use It all.
R seat height 28.1"
I got my suspension raised up a bit,,mines about 28.5"

The XR has 39 degree's lean,,
seat height 29.2"

I disagree i have an 07 883L and i tear thru the turns , i think it handles way better than the other models . perhaps the OP should try the different models and decide for himself ???

I am 6'2" 205ish and I have a 2010 883L that I bought in October and I have already logged over 2500 miles. I think that it is a great bike I did put forward controls on it for a more relaxed leg position and the passenger pillion with sissy bar for the wife. I had the shocks adjusted all the way out to keep me from bottoming out. I drive it on a regular basis and think it is a great bike. The 3.3 tank gets me 130 miles including my reserve.

Yer right, he should, that's the best way to tell.
I Guess I shouldda said It differently,,,
When I'm out riding with low models they hit the lean limit and scrape a peg sooner.
My extra 2 or 3 degrees of available lean angle lets me walk away from them In the twisties.
The speeds low models and custom can turn at are really pretty damn fast.

My bad.
