Default Anybody ever use iPod/Phone earphones while riding

Bout to take a trip tomorrow with about 3 hours being on the interstate. Didn't know if anybody has ever ridden while listening to music on their iPod before? If so, do the earplugs stay in? Can you hear anything? I know most will say its not safe but I would still be able to hear outside noise on the iPhone ear plugs. Just wanted to check and see if anybody out there has ever tried this?

No better sound than the pipes rolling down the road... you can make them sing whatever note you want as long as you know how to play them... oh and the notes have to be deep. LOL

I do, regularly. I always wear ear plugs when I ride anyway - a little music piped in is nice. "Get your motor runnin', head out on the highway.." - it is great fun to find really good riding music!

Yes - I have a playlist just for biking too!
You still here the engine, wind, car horns, etc. but it's great to cruise w your fave tunes.
While on the subject I have a Caberg Sintesi helmet with facility to take bluetooth module inside: does anyone know what system is out there that will let me bluetooth stream music and therfor do away with the earphone wires?

I do all the time. The white apple ear buds have a tendency to rattle out of at least one of your ears after an hour or so. I'd recommend going to best buy and buying the iron man (challenge, not the comic) ear buds. They lock into your ears and don't rattle out.

Just double the amount of looking around and mirror checking you do andyoull be fine. I can't hear sirens over my bike any way so the head phones weren't changing anything

I ride with my iPod all the time, but I use the silicone style head phones. Even with the sound up fairly high, you can still hear the bike. And before I hit the road, I make sure I do a full left and right shoulder check to make sure I've got enough play in the wires to make sure they don't pull out on me.

Hey Snowcat. I know the Garmin Zumo 550 GPS has bluetooth capabilities. It pairs with my phone and with my bluetooth headphones (not sure what the brand name is). I can put music on an SD card and it will play wireless. It also allows me to answer the phone (haven't tried that on the bike) and will interrupt the tunes to give me gps directions.
