Took my first ride to run errands and stuff where I actually had to get off the bike and go inside a place to pick up something. I live in Illinois were there is no helmet required by law, and haven't wore one until today on my errand run. Just wondering what you guys do with your helmets, is there a lock for them or do you just drag them around with you? I'm thinking if I go out for dinner, I don't want to have to take my helmet inside with me. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

 

well I just drag my helmet around most of the time (unless of course I'm somewhere it won't be stolen), but if there such a thing as a helmet lock I'm all ears

 

H-D had a helmet lock that attached to the frame where you could lock you helmet to. seach H-D web page you might find it. good luck

There is no helmet lock on the Sporties so what I do is carry a short cable lock with me and when I need to just put the cable lock through the sissy bar upright and then through the metal things on the helmet strap then sit the helmet on the passenger part of the seat. So far so good.

 

I leave my helmet on my mirror. If someone touches it, they are dead !

 

It is a pain in the butt, but Id rather just have my helmet with me. I put my head in there ... who know what could happen. Brown Recluse may crawl in there or maybe some rotten teenage kid (similar to the kind of kid I was) could come buy and do who knows what to it or in it.

Kuryakin makes a helmet lock for the downtube. I bought one and bolted it with blind nuts to the top of my Easy Bracket that holds my saddlebags on. Until I got it I was carrying my helmet around, and that's a pain...

 

do a google search under "helmet locks". there are many good ones out there -i havent decided which to put on the wifes yet.many options, cable/bolt, clamp type,flat mounts, kewl locks that fit in the end of the iso grips(i have these on my cruiser) ect....
