Question Installing Engine Guard

So I'm trying to install an engine guard on my 883, but I can't for the life of me get the friggen bolts out. I tried (thinking that I could do it myself), then my husband tried, and both of us cannot get the factory bolts out just above the horn. Any suggestions?

soak them with PB Blaster over night and see if they come out then? Try not to get the PB balster on the paint too much.

You may have already done this (so ignore if you have) I found it easier if you remove the horn, give more room to get at those two bolts.
I to had trouble with them, sprayed some WD40 on them left over night and bam undid the next morning

Yep liquid wrench chemicals as above.
You can tap the bolts (shock them) with a hammer or wrench before you put the wrench/ socket on them for removal too.
Counter clockwise to loosen and maybe more leverage....bigger wrench, breaker bar.
Last resort apply heat (butane torch for example).
Even if assembled with red locktite they will come out.

Hahaha! I know it's not any advice, but I had the same issue when I tried to put mine on. I ended up not putting it on and just riding it as is!

I had the same problem, first had to go buy the torx socket, tried WD40, heat etc, no go. Finally after 3 days I had to concede defeat and take it into the local HD. Even they had a hard time with an impact wrench and wound up making mush of the bolts - which was okay because the guards came with new hex bolts not those flipping torx bolts. The dealer tightened them enough I could drive home then I installed the guard and torqued them down. May be worth a quick trip into the stealership- they told me a lot of folks can't get these bolts out.
