Default thread repair

heilcoil or permacoil or any other options
i ran to every parts store today no one had a 8-32.so since i have some time til i can order anything i figured i would get some opinions on what has worked for other people

What are you repairing a thread on...? That might make a difference. Normally a helicoil won't hurt nothin. But if it's something important you may want to explore a few other options...

it's for the 2 screws holding the eletronic ignition down in the timing cover

Helicoil, and check it infrequently. That shouldn't be too big a deal since there's really no stress or serious tension on that part anyways. Worst case just drill it and tap it a size up. It really won't hurt anything.
