The ends. I can't remember exactly but I think I was worried that the bologna cut tip mufflers on the Nightsters would twist up the hole saw and damage the chrome. Hole saw may work. I haven't tried it.

any diff if I do take out the rest of that stuff?
Yeah, just noise. They sound good the way you did it. A little louder with everything else removed.

I drilled and removed my baffles on my 883, they are about 10 times louder than before hand.

I was asking more so...what do you charge your customers? I'm looking to get the same thing done at a shop around here...and want to have a number to compare too..

But can you DM me how much you would charge me for shipping you my pipes and all that any how...would deff consider that option.

About 80 bucks total. 40 to empty them out & 40 to take em off & put them back on. I don't know what shipping would be. Never had anyone ship them to me.

why do you have to remove them, won't the baffle pipe(s)/packing pull out after drilling them out on the ends with the keyhole saw while the mufflers are still attached ?, getting ready to do mine while I'm waiting for pipe (mid Aug.?) BUB 7 TDX's

Factory Sportster mufflers (as well as many other HD models) have a 2 part deal inside. One is the baffle that is most commony drilled, punched or pulled. Then there is the muffler part that is a much larger inner tube that secures the packing. To completely empty the muffler seems to be quite a task while still installed...but if you just want to pull the baffle, you may have success while still attached to the rest of the exhaust.

Honestly, I don't like crawling around on the ground. I'll pull the bike up on a lift, pull the mufflers, do the deal & put em back on.

Exactly like this...and yeah, I usually have a few onlookers.

But my main concern is the hot metal shavings from drilling the baffles that the hole saw bit will fling everywhere. They'll embed in the black powdercoated parts on the bike like frame & swingarm. They don't necessarily cause damage but they'll eventually rust leaving it look like crap after a few years.
