Default help z bar install - novello wire extension

i'm getting ready to install some z bars on my sporty. i see some ppl using the novello wire extension kit. wouldn't it be just as easy to route the existing wire internally through my bars, cut off the molex connectors, extend the wires, then solder the connections? in looking at the wires it looks like they are color coded and will all match up. maybe i'm missing something, but i'm getting sick of trying to get these molex connectors apart so snip and solder seems like a better option. any feedback or help would be appreciated.

Just make sure you don't cut them all in the same spot. Leave 2-3" of distance between each soldered point, and heat shrink the hell out of it all before you run them. There will be a giant lump if you do it all in one spot and you'll probably have trouble getting them out should you ever need to. It could also cause shorts much easier. Personally I've snapped 3 sets of Z's in the past and had to retrieve wiring (before I finally just scrapped bar controls all together, lol). So I'd say make sure they're clean, solid, and THIN above all else when you run em.

The Novello kit is cool, but again it puts all connections in the same spot...could just be my preference, but I don't see how that makes sense, personally.
