Default Some upgrades

Did a few upgrades to my 2002 XLH. Went from the uncomfortible solo seat to the much more comfortible sundowner touring seat. What a difference! I have a spine injury, and have gone from being able to ride around 150 miles a day, to, I don't want to get off the bike! Added a windshield which really helps a lot. Keeps the wind from having constant pressure rearward on my helmet to almost none. That helps with the injury bigtime. Added a set of H-D highway pegs to the engine guard, so now I can change riding positions when I like. Added a cramp buster to the throttle, and this is a big help. Because of my nerve damage, I no longer have my hand cramping, or falling asleep. Whomever invented this gadget needs to be given a huge Thank you!. Since I am planning on touring after Americade this year, I have a sissy bar and a sissy bar bag on order, along with a couple other parts I need from H-D.
So, with all the improvements, and a few to come, I really think I will enjoy riding longer distances now. Thats what I have wanted all along. To be able to get out there, and ride long distance, tour, and visit friends and family. Getting there slowly, but surely.

Super cool that you were able to tailor your bike to make it comfy! Kudos to you! You can do anything with a Sportster!

Good job. Always good to hear that someone isn't buying into the whole "a Sportster is just a bar hopper bike" thing.

you added all the right parts to make your ride more comfy.
I have hip arthritis and needed the same parts you added to make my daily 120 mile work commute more comfortable.

Look at the Progressive shocks also - they will make a major difference.

I plan on making a long trip later this summer. I think I am pretty much setup, and ready to go. Just waiting for my sissy bar, sissybar bag, small tankbag, a quick tune up, and I should be all set!! I can ride three times the distance now that I did this time last year. It's almost like I don't even want to get off the bike because it's so comfortible now! What a difference a few changes make.

Cool Good work Ranger XD

Yeah for me It was a Mustang vintage solo 12.5" wide seat,
some foam grip wraps,,to add diameter to the grips,
a cramp buster and a start extender, also a Quarter Fairing
to take the hurricane wind load off my chest,, but still leave me with an
open cockpit,,the thing works perfectly.

A fork brace,,,a Superbrace,, BTW most that never had them don't see
the need,,but those that have them won't ride without one,, ever.

Recently added Ricor Intimidator's up front,,,oh yeah,,I Finally have a
front end that not only tracks correctly due to the Superbrace but now
also Keeps the contact patch on the ground at all times...
Now I gotta watch It,,don't wanna over work my stock Dunlop up front.

Waiting for works performance shocks,,,,,,,

So It seems to be true,,,
A Sportster can handle and be comfortable XD

Rode up to North End H-D today. Got my Screaming Eagle air filter, New Gas cap, you know the nice gold plated H-D live to ride. Had to have it!, also got my passenger foot peg package. Never needed pass pegs before, but have them now. Can you belive it... walked out of the H-D. store with all that and paid 25.00! I was shocked! Guess the discount pays off. It's getting there. The sissy bar should be here this week, and I'll be ready for touring on an XLH ! Who says that a sportster can't be made comfortible!
