Default 1998 clutch lever replacement.

Hello everyone, I have to replace the clutch lever on my friends 1998 HD Sportster 883 and wanted to know if theres any thing I should know before doing this? Also how hard is it to remove the clutch cable from the lever?
Thanks.

Loosen the cable slack adjuster. Remove the retaining ring from the bottom of the pivot pin. Remove the pivot pin and the clutch leaver. The rest is easy.

Thanks for the help guys, but I have another problem it turns out that the part that holds the lever to the handlebars is also broke. What it that part called? Its black aluminum and would like to replace it with the same black one.
Thanks again...

It's called a clutch control bracket.

Far as I know unless they're made for the fatter 1 1/4" bars, they're all the same. That should work just fine. You could also just call the stealer and get the part number...
