Yeah Dude,,Look at a used Dyna,,
You'll have more options to open up the cockpit.
6'7",,,, yeah pass on the sporty,,
You sit ON a Sporty,,
You sit IN a Dyna,,,

Dyna's don't cost that much more and a base model Is only
50Lbs more bike,,
You can still hang with Sportsters,,just don't drag race one XD

I'm "only" 6'1", 225# and I felt like a gorilla sitting on a moped when I rode a Sporty. I suggest a softail or a bagger.

6'4", 230lbs. I'm fine with my XR, heck, I want to RAISE the rearsets another inch.

Only you, can tell you what's comfortable. Although I will add, a KLR 650, will leave you with lots of room.

Very true about the KLR. I'm 6'1" and I feel like Goldilocks on it ("And this bike is too big!")

You said first bike...did you just learn to ride? If you're learning maybe try a big used metric until you can save up for the Harley you really want. That way if you drop it or do stupid **** it won't matter because it will be ugly and made of plastic!

If you try and squeeze into something now I don't think you will be happy down the road.

If your budget calls for a Sportster go ahead . In my experience with my old Sportster i am 5'7" i sold it to a guy who was over 6', he looked like a grasshopper on that thing as he drove off into the sunset. I took his check to the bank and never heard from him again. So i would say yes you are too tall. IMO

I think you're too tall IMO! To mod an HD Bike..it's pretty pricey. If you're on a budget and just learning....look for a used Yamaha to start. If you're uncomfortable or if it becomes a hassle, you won't ride much cause you'll hate it.

I have the opposite issue (too short - lol)!

I would have to agree with a lot of others that posted now that I think about it

My opinion you would be better off on a Dyna only a little more weight and being your size I doubt it would be too much for you to handle

Again just my 2 cents lots of people around that know way more than I do about bikes
