Power Loss after V&H Sideshots Install
Hi,
Great forum here - been lurking for a while but went ahead and bought my sportster a month back. I have a 2010 883R that I installed the V&H Sideshots on last weekend - I have the quiet baffles installed on the pipes and they sound awesome.
But I have noticed a general loss of power after the install - the bike just does not feel as peppy as before. It no longer pulls like a train on lower RPM's and I have to open up the throttle a bit more in the mid range to achieve the same power as with the stock exhausts. A couple of times, I have also experienced a sputtering / temporary loss of power under high acceleration in the 2nd and 3rd gears.
wondering if I did something wrong that I need to check and rectify, or is this a general feeling? Also - do I NEED to add a EFI management system like powercommander to get back to the old power levels at lower and mid level rpms?
any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Thanks for the quick and helpful replies guys - I just ordered a 2010 PCV and should arrive in the next few days. I will also install the SE Air Filter on it along with the power commander. So my setup will be:
1. V&H Sideshots
2. Screaming Eagle Air Filter
Dynojet has the map for V&H shortshots but not the sideshots - any helpful links to get my hands on a compatible map?
thanks for all your help.

SHHHH, don't tell anyone. That is a major dealership KA-CHING. $150 for 5 - 10 minutes work. It takes them longer to write up the work order than it does to do the flash which accomplishes absolutely nothing, except lighten your wallet.
