DNA Springer Brake Setup Questions..........
Hi Im thinking of purchasing the DNA Springer and I believe the brake setup is a right side caliper. Few questions......
DNA springer brake is a right side so is there anyway to convert it to a left side?
Also do I have to purchase there brake kit or can I use a front brake caliper from another bike? I dont even know what caliper this is off of can anyone tell me?

Do you happen to know what brake caliper that is I posted? Thats what I have. So going back to what your stating I should be ok with using that caliper as long as I make a new bracket and linkage?
As for the DNA caliper I should be able to use that on both right or left? The reason why I ask is because DNA on there website states its right side only not left or universal. Thats whats throwing me off

That's a springer brake caliper but I don't know what it's for. You need to make sure it's for the axle you're going to use (or make sure you can adapt it if it's not the same size) and it needs to fit the caliper you're going to use.
I wouldn't use a stock rear caliper. I'd make a bracket to use a stock front caliper unless you're going to buy DNA's brake kit.
My DNA has accomodations for a brake on either side but I'd call them before you order. Maybe they've changed something. I'm not running a front brake with mine...

Thanks for the info. I only have a front brake caliper not the rear as mine will be drum in rear. I dont want to purchase a rear and if I do I may just pick up the DNA front caliper but trying to utilize what I have for the build.
Ill look into making a caliper and see where it goes from there. Just wanted to find out what type of brakes these were. As for axle size i believe its the standard size havent tried to put it on so would know for sure.
So just to clarify you think this is a springer brake caliper?

Yeah. It's for a springer front end or an aftermarket hardtail frame. The reason why I think that is because I see one large hole for the axle and a small hole for a brake stay. The brake stay is a turnbuckle that connects the caliper to the the rear leg of a springer fork and lets the caliper pivot with the actuation of the springer without keeping it so rigid the rotor bottoms out in the caliper throat. But, some guys use something like this on the rear of a hardtail frame. Either way, if the measurements pan out it'll work. I'd try to locate a manufacturer though. You'll probably need to replace the pads some day.

I have a 69 Ironhead with a rigid frame and when I picked up the guy gave me this brake caliper not installed so I wasnt sure what it was for. But if I can use this for my setup Im all for it. Saves me money on purchasing another one. This caliper also looks like it is a left mounted caliper so it may work out.
By the way I like your bobber build. What length forks did you go with? What rake is on your frame? Also those are 16" rims what size tires you go with?
