Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. Brought her home yesterday, and she road like a dream. My girlfriend has already named her Black Betty. haha I'm going to get my inspection tomorrow and will pick up a service manual as well. Looking forward to a lot of fun!

Nice bike. If you're gonna ride on the highway get a windshield. I had a Hellfire which was small, but got the job done. Congrats.

Yeah I always considerd the Custom to be the most bang for the buck
of all the sportsters.

I was surprised when HD dropped It, but then again they dropped
the Roadster for the XR and they got the build your own custom
thing now.

They just found a way to make people pay extra for all the customs extra's.

 

I don't know how big you are but even riding solo and under 180 Lbs
the bike will do better with a bit more air In the tires than the manual says.

Start out with 33 psi up front and 38 rear for solo.
Two up,, go right to 40 rear.. assuming you have the stock Dunlops
on her.

The "Superbrace" will transform the bike,,,google It.

Don't forget to set proper suspension "Sag",,, I doubt 1 In 100
Harley riders get It right. Makes a world of difference.
