Default Progressive 412 11" with passenger

Hi

How does Progressive 412 11" handle on my Nightster with passenger? Im asking this, due I dont have any passenger seat on it, yet. Dont wanna get one, but now it seems to be a must.

My weight:182lb
Wife weight: 127lb

Do I need shock upgrade with new seat if I wanna give her a ride only few times a season?

If she only rides a few times a season roll up a towel and lay it on the rear fender

The 11" would not give you significant change over stock.
Go with 11.5" or 12 inch progressive 412's . I ride 2-up with my wife, I'm about 200lbs with gear on and she's 130lbs with gear. I chose the 412's with standard springs, No bottoming out and ride was better than stock. The half inch does make a difference! A lot of ppl here are going with 12-13" length shocks. Do a search on 412's thread lots of useful info.

In Finland stock shocks are 13.5". Previous owner changed the 11" Progressives. I do have those OEM's left, but those are too high for my taste. You didnt mention, what lenght do you have, 11.5"?

Few times a season...for how many miles?

Based on above you could probably just get a two-up set (and switch between solo and 2 up).

Shocks. Your OEMs will likely bottom put constantly "yet a few times a season" which you may be able to adjust to.

IMHO, seat first then shocks. 11.5 will still retain the stance but may not add to 2up comfort, 12.5 is better for 2 up.
