Default Mustang Day Tripper Dilemema

Just bought a Day tripper 2 up seat for my new iron. The seat looks nice and seems pretty comfortable. Only problem I have with it is that it sits me back an inch or so from the stock seat position and it's causing back pain.

I thought I might just get some risers but Im not sure I want to change the look of the bars too much so Im considering getting a different seat instead. Anybody here have a good seat recommendation with regards to seat position? Ive read a lot of seat posts here but I dont see many that talk about the seat moving them closer to the bars.

Is the HD reduced reach seat comfy? WHat about the C&C squareback or fastback?
Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks.

I love my reduced reach seat. However, I have just bought the Mustang Solo seat and having the backrest retooled so I can sit closer to the bars and have the use of the backrest. If you can't find someone to adjust your seat, I would suggest trying HD's reach seat. The only reason for getting the Mustang seat is for the backrest and also for what others post about how nice it is for long rides. Good luck.

Default thanks

thanks for the suggestions. I think I may just wind up keeping the seat and looking into a differnt set of handlebars. Im not a big fan of how the 2up reach seat looks and I cant imagine it fitting in with the iron's look.

Does the mustang vintage seat sit you as far back as the tripper?

I do not know. Call Mustang and ask. I did purchase a Mustang Solo seat for very long trips. I am having Bitch'n Stitch'n modify it as I sit higher and further back than the super reduced seat. They are modifying the backrest to help me seat a bit further forward. Can't wait to get it as there are a lot of people that love the Mustang Vintage Solo.

i had a day tripper for a few months... not bad for short trips but very hard on longer ones. not much butt time. not a big deal for an around town bike but not so good for longer trips. the wide mustang is the solution for comfort and long butt time.

my day tripper:

Love my Daytripper. I had the Harley Sundowner on my bike and puit around 5000 miles on that seat. So far the 1500 miles on the mustang this year have been much better. It does seat me further back which I like. I have no issues doing a few hundred miles at a time on the daytripper so far.

the stock seat is prob the worst, daytripper is an improvement but it still has a butt time limit. because of that limit, i changed to the wide mustang... the wide mustang is the only seat i have had on my bike that pretty much is unlimited on the butt time. my fuel runs low before my butt time does now!
