I recently put 2.5" Khrome Werks Slash Cuts on my XL1200C. The are very deep, pretty loud, and are just plain awesome. I wear earplugs when I ride, and I still think that they are loud at times. They don't sound tinny or have that drag pipe sound, to me they are the perfect "Harley" rumble. If you want the smaller diameter for looks, as I did, get them fast, because Khrome Werks will be discontinuing them soon.

I am in the same situation...hesitating between full pipes or new slip ons. I currently have the V&H Straight Shots and even with BCT Baffles, I'm not amazed by the sound or performance. Looking at Bassani Sweepers or Rush Slip-Ons. Price difference is not bad between the two so I'd love to have some advice on that too.

Last year I put on V&H shortshots and a PCV altered to fit my 07' and tuned by Fuel Moto. I get great power throughout the rev range and didnt need any dyno tuning. Setup was perfect out of the box, never had any popping, etc. Also running an SE stage 1 filter, but I want to change that out cause I'm not a big fan of the look.
