Default Questions regarding a 1969 Ironhead Rigid Frame......

Im thinking about modifying my 69 Rigid Frame but people are stating that this frame being original would be a waste and that I should keep this frame on the side and its stock forks as well and store it. These frames and forks are hard to come by now a days and will eventually be worth money.

What do you all think? Should I? I mean I do have another 69 Frame that has already been modified so I could play with that if I really needed? Any insight would be great.

Thanks

I would play with the modded frame, and keep the other original. On the other hand, if you don't plan to sell, there's no point...

Thats a good point! But it also comes down to if I mess up on the modded and have to cut more portions off, etc I wont stress over it as much. Plus its always good to have an original frame so if I do decide to go back to stock I can. And if not than I can always sell the frame and forks later down the line to recover my project expenses.

I took it to mean that he got an "original," as in built in '69, aftermarket rigid frame. Some of those are also "collectible," so I figured that's what he meant.

thanks for the clarifications. Yes this is a originally made back in the days aftermarket rigid frame. Not built recently.

ok.. i had a 69 sporty in a hardtail chopper frame once.pretty cool..i thought it was like all them honda choppers with an orig. "harley frame"(no chance of fiting)..i would keep it original if you can.. not like chopping a orig. 58 duo glide frame or something but still worth keeping around
