Just wondering after wrapping the exhaust is anything left behind if you decide to go back to heat shields..as in do they stick and are they hard to remove.

I wrapped the primary tubes on my thunderheader. After I decided it was ugly, I removed them. Primary's were scratched to hell. The glass in the wrap scratches the pipe due to engine vibration plus holds extreme heat which burns off chrome, black powder coat and even coatings. I wouldn't wrap em. You'd regret it.

No they don't stick. They may leave a little residue but,ScotchBrite can clean them up if you're putting heat shields back on. I change mine once a race season with no sticking.

if you leave it on to long you may not have any pipes left when you decide to remove it

See that is exactly my thinking just not sure if I will like it, the idea I have is to wrap the downpipes and powder coat the SE II mufflers as they are looking a bit tatty, cheaper than replacing them.
Cheers for yer post.
