The smoke lens isn't bad but I've seen turn signals that were built in like that and unless there's an arrow that points in either direction it's hard to tell which way you're actually turning. I was driving behind a bike that had something similar and the right side of the tail light blinked as he was turning right, but it just looked like a blinking light. It didn't tell me which was he was actually turning. You can get a smoked lens like that for about 25 bucks. I actually have one for sale....

 

I put the low profile smoked taillight on my bike. I like it it. The stock light was huge! It was more like 175.00, but I think I ordered it through HD so of course they would mark up the price.
