Default clutch and brake lever replacment on a 05

Getting ready to replace my clutch and brake lever on my 05 sportster any tips or things I need to know before removing them?

basically just need to know about the clutch side if i have to slack the clutch cable or anything to install the levers?

Yes slack the cable, pull the clip, pull the pin, and readjust the cable and your done with that side the brake side is pretty much the same way just no cable to adjust, be careful with the brake switch!!

follow the cable out of the primary up the left side frame down tube their is a rubber boot slide the boot up or down and you will see a jam nut and what looks like 2 long nuts break the jam nut loose and turn the 2 long nuts together until they wont go any farther,that will do it, after you are done with the lever readjust the cable until you have only the thickness of a dime standing up between the end of the cable where it goes into the lever housing and your done... P.S. be carefull with the snaprings on the levers they will want to fly around if you dont keep your hands on them!! Good luck
