Hello DVLDOG, I have worn 3/4 helmets (various), full face (Shoei), and my latest is a modular (Nolan N90). I like the modular helmet for it's convenience and almost bought the Harley Davidson one (made by HJC) which fit me well but decided on the Nolan due to better ratings. Good luck on your search.

I also use a shoei rf1100

of all of my helmets (of all styles) my fav is the HJC IS-33. it has a face shield and also has a really neat inside visor that flips up if you touch a button on the top of the helmet. i ride more often with just the visor than with both down. it is not a full face helmet, but i like it better than my full face.

The Shoei Quest is the same helmet as the RF-1100 with re-positioned vents for better venting in an upright riding position. Great helmet.

40% of head impacts in a motorcycle accident are to the face and chin. If your looks are important to you consider a full face helmet. They are also more comfortable on the highway and mild to cold weather. Also consider a tinted visor for sunny weather and a bottle of anti fog spray.

See http://www.webbikeworld.com for helmet reviews and fitment info.

your gonna get every answer in the world on that question. I have both a full face(DOT),HJC flat black and also 3 Bell custom 500 (DOT) open face helmets. Safety of course go with the full face! HJC's are excellent and light. I personally love my open face helmets for the fact of seeing and hearing better and they are metal flake and look cool(old school)! I only wear my full face when its cold out. I dont like the fact that its harder to see and hear with it, plus I just dont like the look of a full face.
Answer is Full face for safety, open face(3/4) for cool factor! and salad bowl for no safety at all but looks cool also.
