Default broken fuel pump plug

well like the title reads, i noticed after relocating a bunch of **** that my bike wouldn't start. i heard the pump clicking but no gas priming. followed the cable from the pump down and low and behold the plug behind the rear cylinder was disconnected. didn't go anywhere near this while working on the bike but after further inspection it looks like i broke the retaining clips.

can someone else confirm this for me? if so, can i just buy that plug or is HD gonna make me buy a whole new friggen fuel pump (lol)? or, should i just ghetto rig it and electrical tape the **** out of it? bike starts and runs fine if the plug stays in but it popped and smoked like a sum bitch till i noticed it. scared the **** outta me! help is rewarded with good karma. thanks.

Zip tie will work fine, but I am sure you can buy just the plastic housing, all you will need to do is remove the pins from the old one and insert them into the new one.

just not sure that a zip tie would hold it in. the connector inserts from the top and if i put a zip tie around it i'm not so sure that the ziptie would hold it in place.

You should be able to get one of those really skinny zipties and route it between the wires top and bottom to hold it together.

You can buy replacement plug components from H-D. However, disassembling and reassembling them could be problematic if you don't have the right tools or the know how. Usually it requires a needle like probe to release the wires or the male and female connectors. Don't attempt this unless you know what you are doing. Use the redneck engineering fix with the paper clip and zipties.
