Default slip on muffler question

Can I get the stealer to sell me V&H slip ons with out a stage 1 upgrade? I just want the sound, not the power.

I see why not just go in and order them for your bike and put them on. you only need to rejet if you do exhaust and A/C

Dont buy V&H from the dealer, they are very expensive. Check Ebay. Great prices for V&H exhaust.

I did just that ........ slip on's only, dealer said wont void warranty I just wanted the HD sound. Took the bike back for the 1000 mile thing and the tech doing the work said the bike sounded good. May do a re-jet and an a/c in the spring not sure

1200 XL Low
Cycle Shack slip on's cat #1801-0009 $175.00
took about 1 hour to install

Just my 2 cents

You may want to do a search, as there are many posts about mufflers/slip-ons and getting the right sound. For my 2 cents, go with the slip ons as long as you are pleased with the performance and desire to ensure the warrenty is not impacted (it would be difficult for the dealer dismiss your warrenty--but that's another subject).

Check out Robs Cycle Supply on EBay. Just ordered my Straightshot Slip-ons $197.00 + $16.00 shipping. He also has a good price on the quiet baffles..$49/set. When you get to his store......Exhaust>Sportster. He has a lot of Sporty chrome goodies.

Lamo70...what did you decide on the slip ons? I am going with "modified" stock mufflers (purchased a set of new take-offs on e-bay for $5). Per H-D, there is NO remapping available for slip-on only modifications.

I haven't decided yet. My guess is, when I do, the local stealer will soak me.They told me last week they didnt have pipes in for '07 bikes yet.

eBay: Being in Canada, I would incur shipping charges, duty, etc, which makes everything double the price.

ERASE THE BORDER !
