Default Forwrad Control Extension

Hey everyone,

New member here and need some advice. I searched all over and can't find anything current. I am looking for a set of 3-4" extensions for an 01 1200 Custom. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

I think what you are looking for is a forward controll kit. Part # 33891-98. $489 From your local Harley dealer.

Hey thanks a ton for the reply. I already have forward controls, I am specifically looking for an extension kit to either move the controls forward another 3" or i possibly thought about trying to move the seat back 3" with another type of single seat. Anyone with info I would appreciate it.

Thanks Again!

The problem with those forwards is that they are part of the motor mount. You might be able to make a set of plates that will bolt on and give you the reach you're looking for, but, that might take some doing. As far as buying them, I haven't seen any, not that I was looking though. Give E-Bay a try, also search with Google. Sportster.org is another place to ask this question. Hope this helps.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies everyone. I thought there was a guy on here that was fabbing some a while back. I have also searched everywhere and can't find em. I appreciate the feedback and if anyone else has any ideas feel free to chime in!

Check out Mean City Cycles. http://www.meancitycycles.com/index.php

I havent used them yet, but have heard nothing but great things about them. Even started a thread earlier today to ask about them.
YOu send them your seat they make the mods to it and ship it back to you. Their prices seem above and beyond reasonable. Here is a couple of excerpts from their seat mod page, explaining some of their mod packages. I highlighted the part that might interest you.

Riders Choice Mod - $45
With this modification we re-shape the seat based on the rider's height and weight. The seat is shaped so your weight is dispersed better to get rid of the tail bone issues and help with hot spots. It will lower the rider anywhere from 1/2 inch to 3 inches and move the rider back from 1/2 inch to 3 inches it all depends on the rider's height and weight.

* Plus return shipping

Extreme Mod - $4
This modification will give you the feeling of sitting in the motorcycle and not on it. It lowers the rider up to 3 1/2 inches and move the rider back in the saddle up to 3 1/2 inches. Plus the seat is shaped for a comfort. We take it down to the extreme for that custom cruiser feel.

  • NOTE - some seats cannot be moved back as much as others due to the way the seat pan is designed
