Default Flipped handlebars

Just wondering how hard it would be to flip the stock handlebars. Also how comfortable is it?

from what i have read and been told, it is just a matter of loosening the bolts on the handlebar brace, and the screws for the housing for the lights and ignition button controls and then slide out the grips or whatever and flip bars and slide grips and controls back on tighten screws and voila!

What he said. Don't forget to keep them loose and turn the bars lock to lock to make sure that they don't bang the tank, then tighten them up. As for if they are comfortable... are boxers comfy or are briefs better to wear? Each person is different, and what makes some people comfortable doesn't work for others. Just flip them and give it a try. Worst you are out is an hour of your time and all the wiser for it.

Just remember its not a matter of turning them down. You must flip them end over end. Also advise u just barely loosen the break bango and move it to take tension off the break line. It will take some getting used to the position as its not very comfortable and puts strain on your neck, back and forearms. I wouldnt change mine back to stock, im used to it and love it.

It's very easy to do. A better comparison for comfort is: is a crotch rocket more comfortable, or a cruiser? The more important question is how do you ride? If you spend most of your time at high speed and/or carving the corners, then you will most likely be happy with the bars upside down. If you ride more sedately, then you will probably be happier with them in the stock position. If you are young, then you can probably handle upside down bars. If you are older, then your back probably can't handle it.

Another alternative would be drag bars. They are exactly halfway between stock bars and flipped bars. The downside is that they aren't free. They can be cheap, though. I got two sets from my local stealership for $25.

Excuse my ignorance, but if you flip your bars, what happens to the wiring? Surely the wiring grooves will be in the wrong place.

Somewhat, but not enough to worry about.
