There are kits out there that let you run a 200 or even a 250 rear tire on a sporty. There are some guys on here that have some of the kits. With some brands of tires you can get a 160 to fit on a stock sport with no mods, but it's not going to change the look much at all like you want. You need to go at leat 180 to get a fatter look.

Kane, use the 'Search this Forum' (go to Sportster Models index) and search for 'wide tire'. You will find previous questions including this one.

Consider,,,
A wider rear tire will change handling.
Will take more effort to some degree to Initiate a turn,,
and to end a turn,,,
Also will Increase "Felt" fall off as you lean er over.
That will feel like the front tire Is sliding out off the prefered line
an extra Inch ot two.
Thats no problem or nothing and prolly only noticable
If you get Into Hot corners,,,,,,

I've seen people get the street bob rear 17 wheel and fit a 170 with no mods and then a 180 with a few simple mods, that's probably the cheapest route to go but then you'd have to get a nightster front wheel to match!

If you wanted a chopper - you should have bought one. These are HD's version of sportbikes, not choppers.

You bought a skinny bike, not a show piece or traffic stopper. Dummy.

Sportster chopper with a big ol back tire. I'm not in to fat rear tires but this one is super cool.

I don't care what they were "meant" to be...take what you have and make what you want.

why do people feel the need to be so negative? he wants to change "his" bike not yours.

take a step back and ask yourself if this guy even wants to hear what you are saying. if its something negative probably not...
