Wow, way off base here. The Sportster is, im my opinion, Harleys version of a starting point to build what you want in a less expensive bike. They make different versions to give you a head start in the direction you may want to go.
To jump all over someone who wants to build their bike a certain way is just uncalled for. The Sportster is a great building platform, and the options are almost endless.
To the OP, build what you want, make the bike what you want.

OP, Good on you for having a Sportster and wanting to make it your own - what ever that is.

I am not a fan of fat back tires and would not do that to my 883 iron - but just because it's not my thing doesn't mean t can't be your thing!

I agree with the advice to ride a fat tire bike and to carefully consider the detrimental handling effects - as the advice was sound.

That being said, many bikes have fat (even real fat) back tires and if it makes their owners happy - more power to them.

Enjoy your bike but also consider that financially, whatever you do to your bike rarely adds value and can sometime detract from value.

Happy hunting.

Anyone knows If a 2018 road glide special tires will fit in a 2010 iron 883? They both are 16/19 and 1/4 axles.

Default Build what you want and enjoy

Do what you want at least keep 2 on the road. I don't care what ya ride I recently got harassed for being on a iron 883 sporty by a group of riders What they didn't know I have one bad *** ultra slammed bagger. I was riding my wife's bike which she has passed and I ride it once a month so I feel I'm riding with my best friend still. After I explained the bike is parked in my living room comes out once a month and now the group comes by once a month to ride with me and the bike. To this day people still ask why do you put so much money in that bike she was small she luved riding she wanted the bike the way she wanted it. I am just finishing her project for her yea I've got more invested in this bike then ill ever get back but this bike will always be posted NFS. I say build it ride it enjoy it
