Question bolt on hardtail struts????

Okay so tell me how much my ride will be affected by replacing my rear struts with hardtail bolt on rigid struts??? Should I buy a kidney belt with them? I like the look of them and they are priced cheap.... Just not sure if I will like the comfort.. 2009 nightster 1200

I run Biltwell struts most of the time (the expensive ones, but they are beefy) and have found that running 15 psi in the rear tire helps a lot. If I go on a long trip I'll pull the struts and throw my Progressive 412s back on, especially if I'm taking a passenger.

It's rough on your spine with the stock seat...other than that I like em.

Thanks, I do like the looks of the Biltwell if I do decide on struts I will buy them. I noticed mreed you have a springer seat on yours how much does that absorb???

Thanks again-

It's great until the springs bottom out. I have 2" springs. My wife's 04 has 3" springs and I imagine that would be even better. It takes a few rides to get used to the set up but I won't have it any other way now.

I've got 9inch struts on mine...as you can see in my pic they are super heavy duty to support my fat ***. It's rough but you get used to it.

I have 10" struts on mine. The stock seat is uncomfortable with them but I have a spring seat with 3" springs and IMO it feels more comfortable than the stock seat with stock shocks did.
