nuts
I just put a bobtail fender on my 06 sporty low. All went well until I tried to put a nut on the stud from the turn signal. I t is too short to get a nut on. I have a sissy bar on the rear also and this must have contributed to making the stud too short for a bolt. I want to know if I really need a bolt on the turn signal stud. Thanks for all replys

RE: nuts
If I remember this right, the stud you are refering to is threaded on each end, with a large thin nut type formation in the middle. - this passes through the horizontal trim piece along the rear fender and holds the turn signal tight, then the trim and turn signal get put over the horizontal fender mount - This stud is one of three attachment points, - the front and rear screw/nut (actually a chrome allen bolt/nut on mine) and the turn signal stud
It seams like the turn signal stud should not need a nut if you can't get it back on, but with the vibration, if there are 3 contact, attachment points, you will eventually wish you still had the nut on the turn signal stud.
In other words, yeap - my vote is figure a way to get a longer stud - Hardware bin at ACE, or LOWES may have a stud you can use - good luck
