Redline heavy gear oil. Not really good for a sporty as the tranny and primary share the oil.

thats what gets me, my friend used 20-50 HD synthetic. im thinking someone added it or something.
Shall I just drain it and do a full oil change? Or do I need to flush it or do multiple oil changes to get that stuff out?

Yeah, that oil is far too thick for the shared primary/tranny. Drain it and replace with 20W50 or Mobil 1 75W-90 gear oil. That stuff is 90/140 or something liek that.

It's Tiger Blood for your XL!
***I'd drain then drive 50 miles and drain again.***
Then drive another 50 miles and inspect the condition again, as in this threads pictures.

I'd drain & refill at least twice with inexpensive petrol based gear oil and then refill with your oil of choice, it's not easy to get Redline SP Heavy completely removed...

Water will make oil look milky, nothing I'm aware of will make it look red. The fluid looks exactly like Redline's SPH which looks like Pepto Bismol red.
