Properly fitted windshield cuts the wind fatigue factor by MORE then half. Good *high quality* rain suit just in case. My rear end can usually recover in about 5 minutes of standing. I have the 3.3 gal so i have to refuel around every 100 miles or so. After 100 miles it's good time for break anyways. Unlike my Jeep i can drive near 400 miles tank to tank ie 800 miles a day limit.

When touring I try to get an early start and put in an hour or two before breakfast. It blows away the cobwebs, I enjoy the breakfast more and it seems to eat up the miles.
