Sold my 883
Well I went and did it, I sold my 1999 883-C that just last month I had the shop replace the leaking rocker box gaskets as a cost of $250.
Did not get what I was looking to get but did get a fair price of $3000,
Bike had jast a tad less than 13000 miles on the clock.
I'd like to say I will miss the bike, but can't as I was not happy with it, it seemed way under powered and a top speed of 70mph was just not cutting it.
Oh I might tangle with the idea of another sporster, but it will be a 1200.

Understood. Life is too short to ride a bike that you are not happy with. I've never ridden an 883 but the 1200 '07 XL 50 I picked up a couple of months ago has surprisedly impressed me at the quickness. The bike is bone stock as far as performance enhancements but will get to 80 in a heartbeat. Even with the giant touring screen installed by the previous owner it will still do 96 (and with my size I add a lot of extra weight to the Sporty).
Now I should not easily impressed with a stock Sporty as I have a '06 Street Rod that I've had to 128 and an '09 Road Glide with an S&S 106" Big Bore Kit, cams, heads, etc, etc. I was not looking for a Sporty and because it was a deal I stumbled into and just could not pass up I was not sure I would keep it. After a few rides I definitely plan to keep her and do some customizing.
You should be happy with a 1200. Good luck in your search.
