The knurling (sp?) is there to help prevent the bars from slipping or moving.
If you want to run the wires internally, get the non-dimpled bars.
I needed 1" bars for my bike, not sure if your year is that size or not. It's not super hard to run the wires for drag bars. I had a buddy help me with mine.
You will need to lift the gas tank and disconnect the wires for your horn, lights, etc.

Hey, so i was wondering if i could grab some help with choosing some drag bars. I like the straight bars on the nightster i think they are sick. Im just not a fan of the very short bars. I also really want to have the mirrors below the bars. What do you guys think about these?
