I had the same problem with the Burly cable. They're crap. I ordered a cable from Barnett, world of difference...feels like a hydraulic clutch it's so smooth. Problem solved.

Did you have to eat the cost of the burly cable or did they work with you to return it?
I'm surprised I haven't heard more complaints about them.

Burly offered a new cable, but they were saying it just needed to be lubed, which I did about 4 times already. The cable from Barnett was around 75 bucks, but worth every penny. My clutch never felt so good.

Check other threads, we're not the only ones that had problems with Burly clutch cables. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get it fixed.

I tried to lube the first one I got with no luck either. I bought another company's cable as well I'm not sure on the brand.
My worry is that I bought another cable from burly (my second cable) and was suppose to ship the first one back. They then would refund my money for the second cable. My concern is that they will say nothing is wrong just needs lube and ill be stuck with original cable and charged for the replacement cable as well.

Well I got my new cable yesterday it ended up being a drag specialties cable. I managed to get it on the bike before I left for work. It works great it looks like I get to go for a ride today!!

As for burly brand they are refunding me for the replacement cable I bought from them. The original cable they can't do much to help me out sense they don't have my money obviously.

I'm having the same problem with a clutch cable I bought from Harley except it's for a Street Glide. It was mentioned possibly a bad clutch spring but I can't see that just showing up when you change cables. Guess I'm gonna have to order another one. Have two bikes so this one gonna sit cause the exhaust is a pita to take off to take the tranny cover off. Hate to say it but thanks for having this problem so I can fix mine.

yeah it was a crappy deal all around but i did eventually get a working cable. Im still waiting to hear from burly and the company i bought the cable from, but by the sounds of it there both giving me a refund so ill break even. Im pretty happy with everything now, sure it was a pain but I felt like the companies are doing there best to make me happy. If it helps any my working cable was a drag specialties cable, i dont know if i mentioned that above or not.
