Nope don't fall for that. They shouldn't charge you freight and assembly anyway, that's a load of crap IMO. I paid $7k for my bike and $500 for TTL, and that was IT. Nothing more.

Pipes are $300 and super easy to install. The intake is $140 (stage 1), and the tuner is $330.

-Just curious why they wouldn't charge freight when car dealers do

i don't have the exact figure but when i picked mine up i had 9k in my pocket and left with a couple hundred bucks... i'd guess $8750.00.

price included dealer-installed (per my request) screamin eagle black slipons, black headpipes, detachable rack with docking hardware, and a gas cap.

i could have done better but i don't feel like i was robbed.

I'll see if I can talk him down a bit. If I were to purchase any other bike other than the Sportster I get a certain percentage off MSRP. But on Sportsters I just get the freight and assembly off. I am in NYC so taxes here are a but higher than most states.

If they want the sale, they'll drop it. At least every dealer I went to was going to drop it and as I said earlier, when I bought mine I paid for the bike and TTL, that was it. None of the other BS dealers tack on just to increase the price.

There are ways around it, like keep calling different dealers. Keep making them beat the other dealers price, and make sure you call them and tell them a number that is lower than you actually have been quoted. This worked for me.

The economy is hard, and Harley is no different. Their bikes are already ungodly expensive, so if they want a sale, make them work for it!

In 2010, I bought my brand new Iron for $7500 OTD. I'm a bit confused if you actually bought it yet, but if you haven't, I strongly suggest calling Eastgate Harley and see what their price is.

If freight is added anyway (which IMO is stupid and they didn't charge me for it) I would have them ship you one from Ohio to wherever you are.

My other local dealers were ~$8,300-8,800 at the same time (August 2010) so obviously, this dealer was significantly cheaper and great customer service!

Give them a call.
Eastgate, just outside Cincy?

I am born and raised in Lebanon. Worked and lived in Eastgate for a short time.

Will check them out and see what they say. Thanks

When I look at the price that I got quoted. The bike it's self is at 7,999. I don't see any freight or an of that stuff. Just the MSRP for the bike, plus TT&L bringing the total to 8370 OTD.

I don't plan of getting the warranty unless they come down on that price. I have already had one dealership say no to the other quote I got. So, honestly I am surprised that this one (owned by the same people) said yes. I am going to ask, but to be honest I am kind of happy with the price.

I am going to look and see what they have used when I walk in. But unless it is an Iron, I don't really want it. I might see if they can throw in a set of SE slip ons or something. Maybe just a helmet. Hell I am not sure, this is my first dealership bike purchase.

Yes, Eastgate Harley near Cinci, OH. If you can get a 2011 Iron OTD for $8,300, I would say it's a pretty good deal. The most important part is what you feel comfortable paying. I personally would be fairly happy at that price. MSRP + TTL is pretty good for Harley.
