Default Sportster Stage 1 Download

I have a sportster stage 1 question. I have a 2007 XL1200C that I bought with SE slip ons and I added the SE high performance air filter last year. I didnt get the EFI download last year and was planning on doing this spring. I called the dealer and he said that they dont have download for the bike with the slip ons and the filter. He said they have one for just the filter with stock pipes and then said the only thing I could do is either convert the bike back or have a Dyno performed which is $$$$. Anyone else have a similar issue or know of any other options (keeping the slipons and filter on the bike)?

You could try buying an aftermarket fuel management system, like Power Commander V (which is what I did, fuelmoto is the place I bought from. You tell them your setup and they'll ship your PCV pre-mapped, just plug and play [for the most part anyway]), or ?? (insert other recommended brands here).

Default I think their gold diggng...

I have 2007R - added SE slip ons and breather last year...
3 dealers in this area - I paid $150 for stage one download at one delaer - it made a big difference other 2 dealerships claim there is no such thing as a stage 1 download?

Found out stage one download just advances timing and increases redline from 6,000 to 6,200...still had a cold start stutter and was a little jerky in 1st and 2nd around town...

Switched from SE slip-ons to V&H blackout 2 into 1 and added x14ieds 2 weeks ago - no more cold stutter and no more jerkiness...

The x14ieds was best $100 I spent on the bike - skip the stage one download and buy the x14ieds - 5 minute install and bike runs much better...

My 2 cents...for what it's worth.

The download is a joke! Get a tuner or a set of x14ied's and you will ne just fine.

Amazing the difference between dealers. Mine had same recommendation as what i read in forum. Pipes or air cleaner alone doesnt need download, but both do. Dealer did download for $100. With the SE pipes and AC plus the download, the performance was great. Maybe you need to find a better HD service dept.

I've got SEII slips ons and a V&H air cleaner on mine and I got a Fuelmoto PCIII shipped to me here in England already pre-programmed for my set up. Easy to install (except on a Low like mine! LOL) and makes a big difference. More power and much smoother in low gears.

PCIII (or PC-V) or the X14ied's will do you very well. I'd avoid the fuelpak personally - just because of things I've read elsewhere, but others like it.

I went with Fuelmoto for the great support and free maps should I change my setup
