lowering the new superlow

Hi,
Do not lower the SuperLow!! The bike will scrape like crazy if you do. My wife has one, I have some experience riding it as well, it handles great in turns stock but is all ready too low for an agressive rider to lay into corners. The bike is perfect for newbie or less aggressive riders. My wife is 5'2" as well and is flat footed with her Harley boots (1.5 heel).
If the boots don't do it, go for the reach but DO NOT LOWER THE BIKE!! By the way, this bike is super easy to handle so your woman has made a godd decision unless she is a kick *** rider. I have other posts on here about the concern with the foot peg to shifter/brake position so you may want to search that-- easy fix though.
Good luck, give me an email shout if you have questions

Check these out.

They give you three different settings, 1 or 2 or 3 inch drop. I run these with Progressive 412 shocks at the 2" setting and they're perfect for what I want out of them. Buy them on ebay, and they're even cheaper.

[QUOTE=keod; 5'3" and ... Was going to do the forward controls but found them a bit too far forward given my height so I put the Harley highway pegs on and can now even use my heel to brake etc if necessary. Best of both worlds.[/QUOTE]
I am 5'1" tall with a 28" inseam and can reach the forward controls just fine. The super reduced seat made all the difference. I really had a lot of trouble with the mid pegs. I have more confidence as I know I can put my feet down when I need to.

I rate the low's as very unsafe even stock.
Sometimes you have two choices, dodge something in the road or plow into it.
The lows can't lean enough for the dodge so riders don't make turns and run off the road or plow into something.
What happens when you enter a turn a bit too fast?
You cant lean the bike...

I know you are probably right. Forward controls is the way to go but I'm a new rider (at close to 60 years old if you can believe it LOL) and when I tried one of bikes with forward controls it was a bit of a stretch because my legs and feet are shorter. I was going to try the super reduced seat but then I got a set of highway mounts for free and a neighbor drilled a hole to bring them a little closer to the mid mounts - so being cheap I decided to ride with mids for awhile and now I quite like them. I wouldn't want to lower the bike - the speedbumps would be even worse than they are now ROTFL.
