Default Winter Storage heated or unheated

New to winter storage, puting the bike away till May, changing the fluids after last ride and pulling the battery. I talked to my local dealer about storage $225.00 with oil service un-heated. and another dealer $100.00 heated storage no oil service. I live in Michigan and have a garage w/o heat (like I said I'm new to this so any replys would be helpfull)
Thanks

It doesn't need heated storage. It won't catch a cold without it.

Heated storage reduces the chance of rust. It's worth it.

Doesn't everyone just pull them into the living room when it's cold and dark outside???

We have a short winter here in NC - I keep my bike in a non-heated garage.

A heated environment will help reduce rust and also minimize condensation build up in the oil supply and cases. Heated is always preferrable but if properly stored and maintained in an unheated space there's no harm done. One "trick" in an unheated space over a prolonged winter is to wipe down the chrome and any other ferrous metal with a light coat of WD-40, including the spokes. This will help inhibit rust. You can either pay for heated space or put a little elbow grease into the storage process when stored, and again in the spring when you're ready to bring it out of storage.

i got a question. Is it better to just leave the bike alone for 4 months, or start it every 2 weeks to warm it up? I just had my oil changed, i plan on hooking up a battery tender and topping off the tank and putting fuel stabilizer in and running the carbs out before i shut off the gas, then cover my bike with a blanket. My plan was to start my bike up once every 2 weeks and let it idle for about 15 minutes, get good and hot, turn the gas off and run out the carb then put it away again. I thought this would keep the engine from getting condensation in it during the 4 months i wont be riding it. or will this create condensation?. it will be in my garage but the garage has no insulation with a cold *** concrete floor, i live in oregon during the winter it gets around the 30's alot. Which way is better?

I've been doing a heavy pitch to my wife trying to get her to let me store mine in the family room over the winter. Told her I'd even put Christmas lights on it for the holidays!

No go
