Exclamation Broken stud in head

While trying to extract a broken stud in my front head the extracter broke! Now I have a broken stud with a broken, hardened extracter. I brought to the dealer, they removed the head and took to 2 machine shops. Neither could remove it due to the extracter being in there. Options?! Dealer said new head is $380.

Can I get a used one or does anyone have any other ideas to extract the bolt?! Thanks!!

If a machine shop couldn't get it out that head is junk. If the bikes still at the shop, you might as well bite the bullet and get a new head installed.

If its down insiade the head its gonna stay there...Even solid carbide bits will not remove that extractor trust me I have tried a few times. If you had enough sticking out of the head you could use a TIG torch and weld a nut onto it and back it out. Pay the $380 and avoid the hassle.

The same thing happen to me a number of years ago. Some guys in those shops are better than others. He got it out and the head was like new. Try at least one other place before getting the new head.
