Default tank lift pics

I'm interested in doing a tank lift but Im not to sure how much of one I should do or if I should do both front and back.
So I thought it would be nice to start a thread with pictures of your bikes and list how much there raised in front and back.

I just did a 1.5" front tank lift on my XLC with a 4.5 gallon tank. Most tank lifts are done on Nightsters / Irons or 3.3 gallon tanks. I haven't seen too many done on the Custom here on the forum.

Also did a coil and ignition relocation this off-season and changed my sliders to powdercoated black. The 1.5" lift was just enough to make room for the tucked wires.

I can't imagine that you wanted pictures of big twins with their tanks lifted.

It might be helpful if we knew what setup you have. Peanut tank, big tank, stock bars.......

I'm sure someone will be along with pics.

My Wife's 1200L looks to me that the front of the tank is a bit low. The lines don't quite flow. I will lift the tank a bit, but want to wait until I settle on risers and bars, this way I don't have to do the work twice.

Depending on the geometry underneath the tank, you'll probably have to lift it at least 1.5" to make room for the wires. Guess it depends on the different types of connectors the MC used over the years as well...

I connected the lift brackets to the front of the tank and ran a length of string between the tank mounting points. I then measured the distance between the string and the tank at various intervals to see how much room there was at those points.

I then ran a string between the mounting points on the frame and measured at those same intervals to see how close I would be to touching the tank. Also remember that if the wires extend beyond the frame laterally, you should also check the width of the tank as well.

I tried to wrap mine tightly enough to prevent any rubbing when the tank was installed...

These measurements gave me an idea of how tall the wire wrap could be above the frame tube. Hope this helps.

BT's actually benefit as much, or more, than Sportys from a tank lift
