Nightster CHOP
So last night me and my friend mixtacy620 started chopping the rear of the bike to put in the rigid struts and prep for the springer seat...Seeing other threads and how informative they were i started this just to document the progression because i will prolly have questions and need assistance...im not afraid that i have no f'n idea but im pretty confident i voided any warranty i did have...oh and yeah the bike lift was being used on a different bike luckily for me i had just enough wood to make it work...

nice job man. just chopped mine too. i see you cut your struts in a lot further than i did. you planning on mounting the fender to your swingarm i assume? the ends of my struts line up prefect with the rear fender mount holes. go for the flat green too, aint seen that done yet. keep the pics comin'.

your right i had the thought process in my mind with the grinder wheel in my hand i was gonna give it to my friend to do the initial cut but i just did so i couldnt turn back...
bmx i saw your post of your chop was that in the living room i got jealous of the heat lol it was like cold last night...but i went as close as i could on the chop to make more of a rigid frame look

that's in what was my garage turned laundry room turned bike room turned bike/laundry room, lol. won't get the rigid "look" until you chop the whole back end off and weld on a hard tail! you can go in further than you went tho....like right behind the shock mounts and round them out really good w/ the grinder. then buy a new fender and mount it to the swingarm in front of the rear tire w/ some round bar struts holding the *** end of it up. i may go that route eventually. love the look of the ribbed fenders. keep us posted.
