Looks great, how did you obtain such a nice finish on your bare metal tins? I'm struggling coming up with a nice pattern on my tank

I'm going to sell the stock tank, and I will have to modify the mirrors, or get new ones.
Pixiechitos, it won't get painted. It will be sanded and clear coated like my fenders and side tins.
I should have finished pics of it next friday if i'm not too hungover from St.Pattys day festivities............

RTW.
Nice bike, Rick.

Where did you get the mirror set-up?

I'm thinking about getting a Sportster Custom--1200C--tank for my 48. Why didn't you go that route?

I am contemplating swapping tanks on my Forty Eight too. I am filling up way too often.

I have tossed the idea around in my head for the 3.3 gallon tank on my 48. I keep running into the fact that the tank is part of what makes it a 48. I know the range sucks, buti didnt buy the bike for that. To each their own, but its not really a 48 without the class ic 2.2 gallon tank imo

Man my Iron needs a better tank but I hate to change the looks or the OEM style... Compromise.... hmmmm, decisions, decisions

You will love the extended range of that tank. Kind of made my own "48" out of a '07 883L using SuperLow tins, Vulcan WG and 150/80/16 tires front and rear.

The 48 tank was actually born on a '39 125cc DKW.
It's what makes a DKW, a DKW.

I like it, it's different and still looks really good. And no I'm not biased for having a custom
